This “Schism” dives into the idea of division — from East and West, light and dark, sun and moon, plus and minus, even the clashes in sumo. While I was chasing why these splits exist, I stumbled on the visions of Benjamin Solari Parravicini, an artist whose loose, raw marker sketches inspired legends like Mark Gonzales.

I picked up that analog vibe to draw my own take on “schism.” Birds — from Noah’s Ark to the dove of Hachiman Shrine — carry the weight of faith across cultures, so they sit at the center of this piece. Below the cross, I sampled the skull from Golgotha, a symbol found in many Western paintings, and linked it to Capella in the Auriga constellation. The stars scattered around remind us that even in division, there’s a bigger universe holding it all together.

This tee isn’t about answers — it’s about asking why the world splits, and finding beauty in that question.

この「Schism」は“分断”というテーマにフォーカスしています。東と西、光と闇、太陽と月、プラスとマイナス、そして相撲でのぶつかり合いまで。なぜ人は分かれてしまうのかを追いかける中で、ベンジャミン・ソラーリ・パラヴィチーニのビジョンに出会いました。彼のラフでアナログなマーカー画は、マーク・ゴンザレスのようなレジェンドたちにも影響を与えてきたものです。

そのアナログな空気感を取り込み、私なりの「シスマ」を描きました。ノアの方舟から八幡神社の鳩まで、宗教や文化を超えて信仰を運ぶ「鳥」をモチーフに配置し、キリストの十字架の下にはゴルゴダの髑髏をサンプリング。これは多くの西洋画に描かれ、ぎょしゃ座のカペラと結びつけられる存在でもあります。周囲に散りばめた星々は、分断の先にある“大きな宇宙”を示しています。

このTシャツは答えを出すためのものではなく、「なぜ分かれるのか」という問いそのものの中に美しさを見つけるためのものです。
