A small pixel character first appeared in the 1980s, created by icon designer Susan Kare for the original Apple Macintosh interface.

Was it a dog, or a cow?
After a playful debate, the character became known as Dogcow, appearing in the Page Setup dialog and famous for its strange little sound — “Moof!”
Over time, it quietly became a cult icon among early Mac users.

This design pays homage to that moment in digital history.
Here, the classic “Moof!” is reimagined as “Meef!”.

Rendered as a surreal pixel goat with a red collar, the graphic nods to the early days of computer graphics — a time when humor, experimentation, and imagination lived inside every pixel.

1980年代、初代Macintoshのインターフェース用アイコンを手がけたデザイナー
スーザン・ケアによって、小さなドット絵のキャラクターが生み出された。 

それは犬なのか、それとも牛なのか。
ちょっとした議論の末、このキャラクターは Dogcow と呼ばれるようになり、
印刷設定画面に登場する「Moof!」という鳴き声で知られる存在となった。
やがてそれは、初期のMacユーザーの間で密かなカルトアイコンとなる。

このデザインは、そんなデジタルカルチャーへのオマージュ。
おなじみの「Moof!」は、ここでは “Meef!” として再解釈されている。

赤い首輪をつけたシュールなドットのヤギは、
初期コンピューターグラフィックの時代を思わせる存在。
ユーモアと実験精神、そして想像力が
一つ一つのピクセルに詰まっていた時代への小さなリスペクトである。
